Who am I?

I always considered myself to be a tournament specialist up to the beginning of this year, but I may need to re-assess this now. My tournament results this year have been non-existent (doesn't bode well for Vegas!), but my cash game has come on leaps and bounds. There is something I find more rewarding now about deep stacked cash play - tournaments can get trappy, and sometimes you have no option but to race. Cash seems to allow for more reasoned decision making, resulting in a more satisfying experience.

I'll still play the big tournaments, but I think that cash will be become my bread and butter poker. Last night I picked up £900 of profit at the end of the session, down at a private game at Loose Cannon.

My stack rose from £150 to £700 over a few hours, before I was somewhat brutally cold decked. I turned the Queen diamond flush (Ace on the board), iso-shoved David and then discovered Jason with the King flush behind me. This decimated my profit for the night, but I rallied back to win a big chunk in the last few hours. In days gone past, this incident would have put me on tilt, but not anymore.

The game was drunken and jovial, although it all got a bit much for one of the larger members of the group, who shall remain nameless. After telling Fluke he loved him, whilst twiddling with his nipples during a hand, he then followed this up by flopping his old boy down onto the felt. After being banned from the game, he then fell asleep as the poker continued around him. You wouldn't get that at The Rio :)
